Gerald Robert Willis
RACINE - Gerald Robert Willis, 58, found eternal peace on Saturday, July 30, 2005, in West Allis at the Ruth Hospice at 8:15 am. Gerald was born in Racine on November 20, 1946, to the late Robert O. and Florence (nee: Tamerian) Willis. He was a 1965 graduate of William Horlick High School. Shortly after, he faithfully served two tours of duty with the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam from November 25, 1965 until September 1, 1969 and remained on active reserve until 1971. Gerald was a machinist at Twin Disc for over 30 years, retiring in 1996. Years ago, he served on the Tichigan Volunteer Fire Department. In his spare time, Gerald enjoyed fishing, hunting, photography and was a talented sketch artist. Surviving are his daughters, Catherine (Chris) Wiese of Charlottesville, VA and Sarah Willis of Lexington, KY; son, Daniel Willis of Racine; granddaughter, Samantha Wiese of Charlottesville; sisters and brother, Marie (Philip) Czuper of Racine; Lisa (David) Zanchetti of Lake Holcombe, WI; Anthony (Kathleen) Willis and Suzanne (James) Craig, both of Racine; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, too numerous to mention by name. Funeral services will be held in the Draeger- Langendorf Funeral Home on Monday (tonight), August 1, 2005, at 6:30 pm with Rev. Jeffrey M. Thielen officiating. Interment, with military honors, will take place at the S. Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove on Tuesday. Visitation will be on Monday (tonight) from 4:30 until 6:30 pm.
