Donald J. 'Punky' 'Big Don' Thompson WAUTOMA- Donald J. 'Punky' 'Big Don' Thompson, 62, formerly of Racine, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2009 while doing what he loved the most, deer hunting. He was born March 23, 1947 in Racine; son of Lawerence and Ruth Betty (nee: Woelfel) Thompson. On December 11, 1970, Punky married Priscilla Klus in Iron Mountain, Mich.. After graduating from Horlick High School, he worked at Twin Disc, and then Don Hutson's Chevrolet, Berman-Shaver Chevrolet, Frank Gentile Oldsmobile, and Ray Wilkinson Buick Cadillac in Racine. Punky was currently employed at West Side Garage in Berlin. He was a Master Mechanic. Punky lived in Racine all of his life until moving to Wautoma in 1996. He was an avid hunter and loved to race cars and work on cars. Punky also loved Nascar, working in his yard and garden, where he was always building something. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Punky enjoyed farming with his cousin, George, on his John Deere Tractor. He had a kind heart and was always willing to help anyone and give awesome advice. Punky always put others first before himself. He was the BEST dad in the whole world and will be deeply missed!
